Male youth are disproportionately targeted by digital sexual exploitation, financial sextortion, crowdsourced abuse, and livestreamed CSAM, yet systemic blind spots, toxic masculinity, and cultural stigma keep many isolated in silence. Grounded in lived experience, research, and trauma-informed care, this training examines the tactics perpetrators use to groom and exploit boys across online platforms. Participants will explore why traditional screening tools frequently miss male survivors, how survival mechanisms (such as bravado, humor, and compliance) are misidentified as consent or delinquency, and how to implement non-coercive support using the B.O.Y.S. Framework. Learning Objectives:
• Analyze Digital Exploitation Dynamics: Identify modern mechanics of online harm targeting boys, including financial sextortion, crowdsourced exploitation, livestreamed CSAM, and in-game or digital currency exchanges.
• Deconstruct Male-Specific Barriers: Examine how toxic masculinity, cultural expectations of stoicism, and societal stigma prevent male survivors from seeking help or self-identifying as victims.
• Critique Screening Limitations: Recognize why standard screening tools miss exploited boys when relying on rigid clinical definitions, visible force, or direct self-disclosure.
• Decode Coping Behaviors: Reframe trauma responses—such as humor, sexualized behavior, substance use, and compliance—as learned survival mechanisms rather than consent, safety, or delinquency.
• Apply the B.O.Y.S. Framework: Implement actionable strategies to Break stigma, Openly adopt youth centered language, Yield agency back to survivors, and prioritize Support over criminalization.
