Description: Serving as the national clearinghouse and largest child advocacy organization in the United States, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) offers a unique, data-driven perspective on child sexual exploitation and missing children cases. This session will explore key trends from 2025 CyberTipline data and highlight emerging threats to child safety and will examine the intersection of child sexual exploitation and children missing from care. In 2025, 1 in 7 runaway children reported to NCMEC were likely victims of child sex trafficking, many of whom were involved in the child welfare system. The presenter will discuss the critical role of state and Tribal child welfare professionals and law enforcement in responding to these cases, with an emphasis on early intervention, prevention, and reducing revictimization. Attendees will gain practical insight into NCMEC’s response efforts, as well as tools and resources available to support professionals and families in addressing exploitation, missing child cases, and coordinated care for vulnerable youth.
This training is available to all interested parties. There is no charge to attend this training. CLE will not be provided.
