This interactive webinar, featuring The Cloudburst Group, will address disaster planning and response for organizations who serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

 

Participants will:

 

  • Increase their knowledge about the impacts of disasters on survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

  • Discover ways to enhance current emergency response plans and develop strategies to partner with local emergency management systems.

  • Examine the critical value of engaging in a disaster response and the TA and training support needed.

About the presenters:

 

  • Laura Kovach brings 25 years of experience working to address and eliminate sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking. As a TA provider and Subject Matter Expert, Laura has supported a variety of projects at the intersection of violence, public health, housing, trauma-informed care and regulatory compliance including natural disasters and public emergencies preparedness and response. 

  • Sara Hicks-West is a Subject Matter Expert for Cloudburst on natural disasters and public health emergencies. She has over two decades of experience in crisis response and emergency management with a focus on supporting particularly vulnerable populations through community collaboration. Her disaster background includes over 15 years in supporting vulnerable populations throughout her preparedness, response, and resilience work with the American Red Cross.
