Dr. Gary Stobbe (he/him) and Dr. Kali Kramolis (she/her) join us to present The Intersection of Intellectual and Developmental Disability and Trauma. In this session, attendees will learn how individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are at an increased risk for trauma across the lifespan. Attendees will explore the scenarios in which the disabled community encounter traumatic experiences including seclusion and restraint, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and elopement is essential for both prevention and treatment. Trauma informed, person centered care can improve mental and physical health outcomes for this population.
