Licensing Enforcement Checkmate, Conducting Inspections and Enforcement for Massage Business Licensing Program

“A strong set of regulations and a well-designed massage business licensing program are only as effective as their administration and enforcement. This follow-up session to Regulatory Chess in Colorado will focus on best practices for administering a successful massage business licensing program. We will explore strategies to prevent new illicit operators and eliminate existing ones. Topics will include how to screen applicants, conduct inspections, and build a case for license revocation.”

This type of program is about combating Illicit Massage Businesses (IMB) through Municipal Codes— this is one approach certain cities/counties are using to address the IMB issue in their jurisdiction.  This will not stop the problem, nor does it provide support for the survivors/victims involved, which is far from ideal, however, it could prevent or at least greatly slow down this type of organized HT crime in specific jurisdictions—which would be a small win. This type of organized crime is extremely complicated, and many jurisdictions have no idea where to begin. This may be a place to start.
