We will be joined by Camie Jae Goldhammer, MSW, LICSW, IBCLC (Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate) from Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services. Camie is a devoted leader for Indigenous families locally and nationally. In this presentation, she will discuss the power of unconditional community love as illustrated by Hummungbird Indigenous Family Services, a Native non-profit serving Native mothers and babies throughout the Seattle area. Hummingbird was born out of a call from community members for an organization that could serve the urban Indigenous community’s moms and babies. Through their foundational BirthKeeper (Doula), Pilimakua Home Visiting, and NEST (guaranteed income) programs, they are working hard to care for Native families in their community. Please feel free to share this flyer with your network in case anyone else would like to attend.
