Webinar: Know Your Rights Series: Understanding the U.S. Immigration System

Webinar: Know Your Rights Series: Understanding the U.S. Immigration System

When: Thursday, February 15 from 10 to 11:30 AM

Hosted by: The Human Trafficking Legal Center

Overview: This webinar will focus on immigration relief available for human trafficking survivors and their families. Many foreign-national trafficking survivors struggle to understand U.S. immigration law. Trafficking survivors may also encounter misinformation, making it difficult to discern fact from fiction. This webinar aims to empower and educate. We will provide a general overview of the U.S. immigration system, with a deeper look into forms of immigration relief -- such as T-visas, U-visas, asylum, and VAWA self-petitions -- that are most likely to apply to foreign-national survivors. We will also discuss family-petitions and immigration options for survivors who recently received their green cards or became U.S. citizens.
